Yet another beach is closed for swimming or wading for the weekend in the Seattle area because of poor water quality.

The Seattle Parks department shut down Matthews Beach Park, on the northeast side of the city due to high bacteria levels.

The water will be retested but the beach will stay closed at least through Monday.

Six other beaches are also closed because of water quality.

  • Enatai Beach
  • Gene Coulon
  • Hidden Lake
  • Lake Wilderness Beach
  • Newcastle Beach
  • Matthews Beach Park

Juanita Beach was retested and cleared for swimming as of Friday.

However, Green Lake is under a toxic-algae warning at Duck Island. Don't swim in the water or let your pets swim where you see the algae bloom.

King County tracks beach conditions and posts the latest closings and warnings on the county website <>><>>
