Baby dolphin dies ‘after being pulled from the sea so people could take selfies and touch it’
The animal was struggling in shallow water on a beach in Argentina when it was spotted
A BABY dolphin reportedly died after beachgoers pulled it out of the water so they could pet it and take selfies with it.
The animal was struggling in shallow water on a beach in the seaside city of San Bernardo del Tuyu in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Bathers spotted it and pulled it on to the beach and soon a crowd gathered to pet the animal and take selfies with it, it has been claimed.
Despite the crowds, no one thought to return the baby dolphin to deeper waters and it died on the sand.
One witness, named only as Claudia, said: "They let it die.
"It was very small and it was next to the seashore.
"They could have returned it to sea, in fact it was breathing but they only wanted to take pictures of it and touch it repeatedly.
"They even claimed that it was already dead."
