SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Scientists say they’ve found blue-green algae once again in Lake Okeechobee.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection took samples on Wednesday. They say blooms happen every year in the summer time and it’s been increasing over the last decade.

Experts warn to check for no swim advisories online before heading out to the water, especially if you have open wounds.
