Blue-green algae advisories lifted across the province

Nov 2, 2018 | 1:08 PM

Alberta Health Services says blue-green algae bloom advisories province-wide have been lifted.

Recent weather has cooled lake and reservoir water temperature to such an extent that the algae is no longer a concern, the health authority states in a release.

There were seven advisories in Central Zone including at Alix Lake, Buck Lake, Haunted Lake, Hiller’s Dam, Lac Santé, Open Creek Reservoir and Wapasu Lake.

Visitors and residents of and near these areas and other water bodies are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any recreational body of water, at any time.
