The Britain's Got Talent judge has been relaxing on holiday with his mother in Dubai.

However, David Walliams Instagram account was updated this week with a picture of himself kissing a Dolphin.

The seemingly innocent picture saw David puckering up to the aquatic mammal in a pool of water, wearing a life jacket.

Now, the comedian's fans have lashed out during his peaceful getaway, pointing out that studies have shown Dolphins find the experience of swimming with humans traumatic.

Angry fans called the BGT judge "cruel", as they shared their disappointment.

One upset follower ranted: "No, no, no! Please educate yourself as to where these Dolphins come from. Often torn away from their families in the wild and forced to conform, so tourists can swim with them."

A second explained: "You shouldn't support captive animals. Read some comments here. This isn't good.

"Wild animals should not be kept captive for the rest of the world just for human entertainment."

While a third hit out: "David no! Swimming with captive Dolphins is the height of cruelty.

"Just watch The Cove or Blackfish. Please don't buy a ticket and keep funding the annual capture and slaughtering of these creatures."

Someone else suggested he should see the Dolphins in their natural habitat: "Nothing better than wild Dolphins coming to YOU of their own free will. Get on a boat.

"They'll show you how amazing they are without some awful human training and being cruelly kept in a life-limiting tank. Gross."

Royal Society Open Science authors wrote about animals in captivity recently: "We found that conditioned animals were more likely to be injured by human interactions when compared with unconditioned animals.

"This is alarming as conditioning could lead to a decrease in survival, which could have population-level consequences."
