Police have found a dead dolphin that members of the public had earlier reported seeing being towed behind a car buried in bushland at Hastings Point
On August 27, a dark coloured Ford Maverick was seen towing the dolphin on Tweed Coast Road.
Police patrolled the area however were not able to locate the vehicle or dolphin.
Acting on public information, police went to a dirt road off Round Mountain Road, Hastings Point yesterday (Sunday September 2), where they located the dolphin in the bushland.
Attempts had been made to cover it with a tree branch and shrubs.
Tweed Shire Council were notified.
Anyone with information in relation to this matter is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
So someone has found a dolphin washed up on a beach and tried to give it a burial, and we’re being told it’s a crime, ring crime stoppers. Gawd I hope I’m not dug up for some fatuous reasoning of Council. If Council were called upon to play chess they’d lose in five moves.
