A killer whale that can mimic statements such as “hello” and “bye bye” is thought to be the first whale of its kind to copy human speech. However, if the whale, Wikie, which is in captivity at Marineland in Antibes, France, could speak properly, I’m guessing that what it would most want to say is: “Go to hell, you cruel, stupid bastards.” It might also wish to say: “If only we’d stayed on land and grown feet we could make you perform stupid stuff.” But, mostly, it would want to say: “Go to hell, you cruel, stupid bastards.” Then, perhaps: “Open the goddamn gates.” Then, maybe, if it had picked up on the zeitgeist and was susceptible: “Let’s make America great again!”
