Giant Squid or Sperm Whale? Pictures of Monstrous Sea Creature Washes up on Indonesia’s Shore Goes Viral

Pictures and videos of the 50-foot giant monster have been shared online, and they are freaking people out.

A giant sea monster was found floating near the shore in Indonesia. This ginormous creature is the first of its kind seen in this area, and nobody really knows the exact form of this ocean beast. Local people are guessing whether the creature is a giant squid or a sperm whale. The 50-foot body of this monster was found decomposing near the Seram Island by the people there. Pictures and videos of the giant monster have been shared online, and they are freaking people out. Marine biology experts have taken samples of the creature and are testing it to find the exact identity of this sea monster. The local military units are trying to move the creature from the water and avoid the contamination of the water body. As the military is trying to move the body of this carcass, the island is flooded with visitors trying to get a glimpse of this unreal being. The creature has been debated to be a sort of baleen whale by Noted South-east Asian mammal researcher Marcus Chua.

The main reason behind this confusion in identifying the creature is the advanced stage of decomposition the carcass had reached by the time it floated to the shore. While Indonesian waters did not have a giant squid that was accounted for, the creature’s body has raised various questions that will only be answered over time. Speaking to Mashable, Chua said, “[Based] on the images and videos, in the advanced stage of decomposition it is not possible to determine whether that is a humpback whale or not.”

The video shows a terrifying site as the water around the creature is turned red from the blood of the creature. This has given the guess of the creature being some sort of a giant whale an upper hand as squids and octopuses have blue blood.
