Humpback Whale Washes Ashore at Dockweiler State Beach

A dead humpback whale washed ashore overnight off the local coastline, and authorities are asking visitors to keep their distance.

Los Angeles, CA - A dead humpback whale washed ashore at Dockweiler State Beach tonight.

The carcass came ashore about 8 p.m., according to the Lifeguard Division of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The dead whale will remain on the shoreline overnight and the curious public was warned to view it from behind yellow police tape placed around it.
