WEST MILFORD, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- New Jersey environmental officials have closed off another large lake because of a dangerous algae bloom as temperatures in the area climb into the 90s.
Greenwood Lake straddles the state line with New York, stretching from West Milford to Orange County.
Officials say no one should go in the water because the bacteria can cause a skin rash. If it's swallowed, it can cause nausea, vomiting, and headaches.
Boating is still allowed on the waterway.
New Jersey's largest lake, Lake Hopatcong, is closed for a third week because of its own algae bloom.
