Peterborough dog owners warned over algae which could kill pets which has appeared at city park
Dog owners in Peterborough are being warned to be extra vigilant after poisonous algae appeared at Nene Park.
A spokesman for Nene Park Trust said blue-green algae had appeared in water in the city.
The algae can be fatal for dogs, and cause irritation, including rashes, to humans.

Hide AdA spokesman for the trust tweeted: “Please be aware that blue-green algae has emerged at #OrtonMere, this is very harmful to dogs so please keep them away from the water. The lakes at #FerryMeadows are currently clear but please remain cautious during the summer months.”
