PORTLAND, Ore. — Public health officials in Clark County have lifted the danger advisories at Lacamas and Round Lakes in Camas for toxic blooms.
PAST COVERAGE |Elevated toxins detected in Lacamas Lake
Water samples taken from both lakes show an improvement in water quality over the last two weeks and toxin levels are no longer elevated.
Public health removed the danger advisory at Vancouver Lake last week.
Officials say that while harmful algal blooms have dissipated, they encourage people who are recreating on the lakes to watch for “floating scum” and avoid direct contact with water in those areas.
Algal blooms can return if conditions change.
