It looks as though the algae Karenia Brevis is in low tide on the east coast, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission Conservation’s daily red-tide report.

Red tide was all but absent on the east, compared to October water samples, which showed red tide present from Broward to Brevard county.

Only Martin, Indian River and Brevard counties showed signs of red tide on the east coast, according to the daily report. Cocoa and Canaveral beaches tested positively with low to medium red-tide concentrations, the report showed.

The west coast remains a different story.

For more than a year, red tide has ravaged the west and continues to do so, the daily report showed.

Red tide was highly concentrated for a 100-mile stretch between Charlotte and Pinellas counties.

The algae persists in the panhandle as well, showing clear signs off the coasts of Gulf, Bay, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia counties.
