The latest report from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shows high concentrations of the algae bloom in Pinellas County and "low to high" concentrations off the shore of Hillsborough County.

Parts of Manatee and Sarasota counties also still showed traces of the bloom.

Gov. Rick Scott has announced the Florida Department of Environmental Protection is providing an additional $3 million in grant money to help communities impacted.

The growing fear of red tide is keeping visitors away from some Pinellas County beaches.

Local charter boat captains say typically on a holiday weekend, the boats would be packed with people. They want visitors from near and far to know that the beaches are clear and the fishing is great.

"The water is beautiful along Madiera Beach, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and our fishing on shore and off shore," said Capt. Dylan Hubbard.

"It's a great time to come down and enjoy the beautiful weather, beautiful beaches and great fishing."
