It was a laborious task for about a half of dozen marine volunteers, removing a 7-foot, 300 to 400-pound whale found washed ashore on Palm Beach Monday morning.“Stranded this morning at about 7 o’clock. Unfortunately, it did pass away,” said Karns.The whale did not suffer any external injuries that may indicate what caused its death, but Karns said after loading it up into a U-haul truck they will take it to Miami to investigate. “We’re going to be performing an necropsy tomorrow morning to determine some more information about it,” said Karns. She told WPBF 25 News it’s not uncommon for this to happen, but relieved it was only one. In the past, they have found groups of whales.
