MISSOULA, Mont. — If you're planning to spend time on Montana's waterways this summer, be sure to keep a lookout for toxic algal blooms.
Toxic blooms can make people sick, and even kill pets and livestock.
They often occur in the summer months when the air is hot and the water is calm.
State officials from the Montana Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Environmental Quality are asking people to report any sightings of toxic blooms.
