A whale was recently found dead in Indonesia with more than 13 pounds of plastic waste in its stomach.

Indonesian authorities say the 31-foot sperm whale was found near Kapota Island in the Wakatobi National Park.

Park officials found more than 1,000 pieces of plastic in its stomach. Among the items were bags, plastic bottles, sandals, 115 plastic cups and a sack of more than 1,000 pieces of string.

Earlier this year, a pilot whale was found dead in Thailand with more than 17 pounds of plastic bags and packaging in its stomach.
